I was out the other day, now that it is getting darker earlier, it dawned on me that when my FEL is being used my headlights are all but worthless. Snow removal tend to be at night for me. Does anybody have any good plans for extra lighting? I have some ideas but, I thought I would toss this one to the forum. I know I should not drill my ROPS, my big question is hook up and electrical overload.

quincy, this is the part # listed for the work light kit for the 2210 in the online parts catalog: BM19291 I tried running the number for a price but it came up as an invalid #. Your dealer may have the price. I got mine for $38. ....

I was checking out your pics, is that the same idea? You have them mounted on the side, I have already smashed my stock flasher/turning lights. Could you mount them up top? Ps. Inoticed in your bio you have a coon hound, I have a B&T coonhound and a bloodhound. ....

Ole' "koondog" is driving me crazy! The deer are in the start of the rut and running and so is koondog after them. Halfway across the county. I almost did the same thing to my flashers as well but caught it before they were broken off. On my tractor a brush guard is required to mount front facing work lights and the rear facing work lights mount to the ROPS. If you register and get a user name and password, for the jdparts website, the parts catalog shows a picture of the lights. They look similar to mine. ....

I bought 2 of the JD work lights and mounted them under the top crossbar of the rops on my 2210. There are 2 pre-drilled holes up there for the factory umbrella. I faced one forward and the other rearward. There is a wire pair running out the rear above the PTO that's hooked into the light switch for auxillary lights.
There shouldn't be a headlight problem with the blower since it's always on the ground when blowing snow below the level of the headlights. ....

I have a JD 4700 and set up aux lights on the ROPS. VERY handy. Recently bought a JD2210 and yes, the loader makes the headlights just about useless. This is what I did; ordered two brush guards for the ROPS turn sigs/marker. Same parts as for the 4700 (dealer found no listing for guards for a 2210) Mounted a pair of JD work lights on the brush guards as designed. Took two generic work lights and mounted them on a small plate then attached the plate to the ROPS using the predrilled umbrella holes. YES, 4 lamps WILL overload the worklight circuit and pop the fuse, soon if not immediately. Simple solution; wire the lamps all the way up to the battery compartment. Get a Bosch or P&B 12v relay and connect the battery to the lamps (through the relay, and of course fuse the connection), tap the headlight wire to use as a relay trigger. Aux lights come on with headlights and no blown fuses!

Since I installed the Curtis cab I mounted the pair of JD worklights under the front lip of the cab roof and added a generic worklight under the rops crossbar using the umberella hole. 3 lights on the same rear wires and haven't blown a fuse. I think those worklights are fairly low wattage compared to the headlamps. Something like 25w or so. ....
